The Best Place to Propose in Virginia Beach
– Virginia Beach, VA –
This surprise picnic proposal in Virginia Beach was such a fun moment to photograph! Aidan reached out to me weeks ahead of time with an exciting plan; to propose to his then girlfriend Georgia during their short trip to Virginia Beach. Since they are not local to the area, Aidan was looking for a peaceful beach location for this moment, and I was excited to tell him about Virginia Beach Oceanfront, a section that is typically empty from the busy streets, boardwalk, and people. (AKA a perfect spot for a beach proposal!)
The day of the session, I arrived extra early and hid in the sand dunes to wait for them. Aidan, probably filled with excitement and nerves, led Georgia to the secluded area of VA Beach Oceanfront, where the cutest picnic was set up, and got down on one knee.
After the proposal, they started the celebration by popping a bottle of champagne and we spent the next hour capturing the pure joy and love of the moment. Georgia was completely in awe; not just by the insane view of the completely empty beach, but also the emotions of the moment, and the RING!!! It was so fun photographing these two!
Aidan really pulled the surprise off perfectly, and even thought to bring a spare outfit for them both to change into, including a dress for his now FIANCÉE! After a quick change, we spent the rest of the sunset near the sand dunes and water. They ran along the water together, and even went around finding shells. (We later use these for a photo of the ring!)
It was a beautiful place in Virginia Beach to propose and capture engagement photos after to celebrate! Congratulations to Georgia and Aidan!
