Oceanfront Wedding Venue in Outer Banks – Whalehead Club

September 20th, 2025, was a beautiful wedding day celebrating Olivia and Dylan in Corolla, NC. From their ceremony at the Whalehead Club in the Outer Banks (OBX) to their reception at an oceanfront property, everything unfolded perfectly, just as they had envisioned. Olivia and Dylan are the type of couple who instantly bring a smile to your face. I first had the pleasure of meeting them during their engagement photoshoot a year before their wedding. We spent nearly two hours on the beach, capturing portraits and chatting about their upcoming OBX wedding. Having the opportunity to be a part and photograph such significant chapters in their lives is such an honor!

Before the ceremony at the Whalehead Club’s famous Point, Olivia and Dylan chose to share a private first look. This intimate moment allowed them to embrace and talk, easing their nerves before guests began to arrive. It was a touching, emotional moment for them to soak in the day. Since capturing a wide range of couple portraits was important to them, and something I love to provide, we made time both before and after the ceremony to explore the venue and take photos.

As the ceremony concluded and sunset approached, everyone transitioned from the ceremony site to the oceanfront reception home, just a short drive away. The venue was beautifully decorated with neutral-toned candles and white flowers, just like Olivia had described! One of my favorite reception details was the inclusion of their dog, Goose, on multiple items, and the fireball shots for each guest that doubled as place cards with table numbers.

By the time the cocktail hour and reception began, the sun set beautifully behind the house, offering the best light and weather. This was when we snuck down to the beach for sunset photos. Olivia and Dylan exchanged their private vows on the beach, in front of a stunning cotton candy sky. Initially, they had planned to share their personal vows after their first look but later decided that the beach would provide a more private moment for them. It was a beautiful experience, and they celebrated together before heading back to the party. The rest of the evening included emotional speeches from the bride and groom’s twin siblings, followed by hitting the dance floor. It was the perfect way to celebrate Olivia and Dylan, and I am incredibly grateful to have captured their day.

Thank you so much for inviting me into your lives, giving me the honor of capturing the life-changing moments for you. It’s been such an incredible journey getting to know you both, and wish you all the love and happiness throughout your marriage. Congratulations to you both and your family!
