Congratulations to Crystal and Matthew!

This past October, I had the lovely pleasure of photographing Crystal and Matthew’s special day at Wild Blue Acres in North Carolina. It was a magical, intimate wedding day shared between the couple and their closest friends and family. Traveling down from Norfolk, VA, their wedding venue in NC was on a private residence, directly next to the water.

The day began with a calm excitement! Crystal, a design magician and extraordinary candle maker, infused their wedding day with all the boho charm and details. From the hand selected decor, the wedding party color scheme, and Matthew’s brown vest, each detail perfectly tied their day into what they love. The earthly neutrals and terracotta hues, 100% YES from me! One of my favorite details that solidified the boho theme was Crystal’s gorgeous long-sleeved lace dress! She looked absolutely stunning, and the sleeves were perfect for the mid-October temperatures during their outdoor wedding.

Upon arrival, I was obsessed with Wild Blue Acres! The main house overlooking the water and a dock leading out. The calm waters, where later the sun would set, lighting the perfect atmosphere for their ceremony and cocktail hour. Their love and excitement filled the room as they prepared to see each other for the first time and share vows together.

Before the ceremony, Crystal and Matt shared a first look together – a magical moment where the stress fades away, leaving just the two of them to connect for a moment, prior to the ceremony. Capturing this moment is always such privilege and creates the best memories.

After the ceremony, the celebration continued with a tented reception next to the main house. Crystal, Matthew and I snuck away for some romantic portraits during sunset. We found the most perfect pocket of golden hour sunlight before heading out to the end of the dock for some final moments before the sun dipped below the horizon.

Reflecting on Crystal and Matthew’s wedding day, I feel such a great amount of honor to be a part of this special journey. Their love truly radiates connection, creatitvity, and authenticity. For couples dreaming of a perfect North Carolina wedding, Wild Blue Acres is a stunning venue to choose.
